What we do.
Since its founding, TETSED's elected board has divided responsibilities among its members and worked toward the association's founding goals. The main areas of work are outlined below.
Website and social media
A new website and refreshed social media accounts keep members informed about sector news, announcements and new technologies.
Membership and records
Member records were completed and entered into the national DERBİS registry; membership has grown past 240 companies.
Skilled workforce training
Partnerships with vocational high schools and the Ministry of Education, workshops in schools, and in-sector training with distributors to address the shortage of skilled technicians.
Sector inventory
The first sector-wide inventory: number of companies, regional distribution, employment, value added, and import/export shares.
Talks with distributors
An institutional channel with equipment distributors so members' after-sales problems are handled more constructively.
A common NACE code
Members were guided to register under a single NACE code (90.02.12) so the sector is recognised as one line of business by chambers and public bodies.
Institutional meetings
Meetings with hotel managements, congress centres and concert venues to improve how venues treat event technology crews.
Fairs and visibility
A TETSED stand at the ACE of MICE fair and interviews in trade press.
Seminars and member gatherings
Member meetings, iftar gatherings, industry review meetings, member visits and briefings across Ankara, Istanbul, İzmir and Antalya, working toward a professional chamber for the sector.
Occupational safety
Professional occupational-safety providers were introduced to members.
The pandemic period
During COVID-19 the association kept members connected through webinars, moved all briefings online, obtained legal guidance on new rules, and joined 13 other sector associations in a platform that secured the event industry's inclusion in the national support package.
